Merlijn has an amazing skill to make anything work. Schedules, broken machines, or people’s relationships. He is wonderful at reading situations and offering the right kind of solutions. He is flexible to work with but can be tough when needed. Most importantly, he has a great sense of humour and lots of experience and wisdom to share. I learned something new every day with him. He is a gem you would be happy to have as your colleague.

Merlijn was my crew manager at Waves Campground for the 4 months I spent there. He was always reliable, easy to talk to if there was ever a problem, and made sure we were all confident in what it was we had to do. The crew loved him and he was a fantastic person to get to work with.

The position he held as crew manager at Waves had a lot of stressors but regardless he was able to stay kind, helpful and keep operations running smoothly. Merlijn is a person with a good sense of responsibility, during his experience at waves he managed several teams while bringing a relaxed atmosphere. He’s good at communicating what needs to be improved, and is always on hand if there’s a problem. I really appreciate the way he brings good atmosphere to tasks that are sometimes less interesting.

Having Merlijn as a manager has been an absolute pleasure. He is not only great at managing the objective of the job, but he is also very skilled at handling the human aspect. He always ensures that everyone feels valued, understood and motivated. I think he makes a great leader and I would be more than happy to work with him again.

I have had the opportunity to work closely with Merlijn over the course of his employment at Waves Campground and have gotten to know him well. We worked together ensure communication between the grounds crew and the campground reception team to support smooth running of the campground and its facilities. While working at Waves in his role as crew leader Merlijn made working during peak holidays times easier with his clear communication, can do attitude and his ability to remain composed during stressful periods. He is a confident leader who is also willing to improve in any way possible with a kind and caring heart. He is caring, has a great sense of humour and puts effort into providing a high standard of work. Merlijn was a pleasure work to with and I would gladly work with him again should our paths cross each other in the future.

I have worked for Merlijn for 4 months while working at Waves Camp Ground, Australia and have also maintained a good friendship from this experience. Within the work place and as a boss, I can affirm that Merlijn is professional, honest and robust individual with good communication skills especially while in a position of authority. Merlijn can effectively deliberate and delegate tasks as well as maintaining a light hearted and fun atmosphere to a team in any professional or more informal environment. As a friend, Merlijn is light hearted and trustworthy as well as humorous and very outgoing. He makes strangers feel very welcome from the offset which I personally experienced when first beginning to work under his command.
